Contemporary interdependencies has given rise for increased administrative interdependence to address transboundary challenges, but also to accommodate the negative side-effects of national administrative actions. At the same time, the legitimacy of transnational governance has increasingly been challenged. this panel seeks comparative (cross-sectoral, cross-national) papers that explore the tension between functional integration and political pressure for 'dis-integration'.
